The hotel itself is a stunning historical property, beautifully restored to blend Renaissance elegance with modern comfort. The moment you step into the lobby, you are transported. Our room was spacious and comforting; it felt less like a hotel room and more like a private apartment in a Florentine palace, complete with antique furnishings, a magnificent frescoed ceiling, and a view towards the Duomo. The service sets this hotel apart. The staff, from the front desk to the housekeeping team, were kind and professionals. They were warm, efficient, and genuinely committed to making our stay seamless. The breakfast buffet was a culinary delight, featuring local delicacies, fresh juices, and the best cappuccino I had in all of Florence. The location is unbeatable. It’s situated just a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Duommo, and all the landmarks. This hotel is a gem. The room was lovely and spacious. The bed was comfy and we sat a couple of times with the windows open listening to opera singers performing in the nearby squares in the evening. Breakfast was a good selection buffet with a la carte options at an additional cost. The bar had a good selection of drinks with an extensive cocktail menu, all reasonable prices for a five star hotel. Staff and service throughout the hotel were exceptional. This is a really well positioned hotel for all the sites and restaurants. My only comment would be that most of the museums are closed on Sundays, except the first Sunday of the month, when they are free.Show More

This was the second hotel of our tour. The bar was set very high with our first hotel in Venice, the Hotel Gabrielli, so we had great expectations. The Bernini hotel was much more old fashioned and dated, but was beautiful in an old-world elegant style. The rooms were quite small but very nicely decorated. Several in our tour group reported excessive street level noice in their room at night, but we did not experience that. The lobby bar was nice and the service was attentive. The breakfast buffet was just OK....nothing spectacular. The hotel is in a fantastic location with easy walking distance to all noteworthy sites. The service at the bar was very good, but overall the concierge staff did not seem as attentive as expected for a 5 star hotel. Interesting note....the elevators shut very quickly and appear to not have motion sensors when people are entering or leaving. Multiple times, the elevators nearly shut on us while getting on and off. It was a little scary. Overall, I just did not feel this hotel lived up to a 5 Star rating.Show More
