Upon arrival at Hotel Calimala West, Silvie and the staff were extremely helpful and professional. We checked our bags and waited for early check in. We enjoyed a coffee and a delicious snack outside at the sidewalk cafe, where Sabina provided excellent service.
We were able to go to our room about 20 minutes before check in. Our room was well appointed, comfortable bed, comfortable armchair and a desk and chair. We had plenty of closet space, and our room was very quiet--which we appreciated considering the central location.
There was plenty of choice for breakfast, hot and cold including a variety of fresh fruit, and Prosecco if you want to make a Mimosa/cocktail. Again, the staff service was excellent, prompt and attentive.
We also had drinks after dinner one evening, and again the staff and service were excellent. I highly recommend staying at Hotel Calimala for a relaxing, enjoyable couples stay!
We did dine at the rooftop restaurant at Hotel Calimala East and were welcomed by a very attentive hostess, and then proceeded to the rooftop. Again, the staff and level of service were excellent. This is the only time that we were not completely satisfied. It continued to get colder and more windy, and the space heater close to our table was not working. Plus, many restaurants offer a small blanket for warmth, but this was not the case at the rooftop restaurant. The food was delicious (T-bone steak, etc.), but we stopped eating our dinner and left quickly because it was too cold. The one suggestion I have that the hotel offers throw blankets, and ensures that all heaters are functional. Otherwise they should close the area once it is too cold.Show More
