Our travel agent gave us a choice of three hotels in Florence, and we picked this one, mainly for its location, which did not disappoint. The hotel is in the center of Florence and within walking dis...Our travel agent gave us a choice of three hotels in Florence, and we picked this one, mainly for its location, which did not disappoint. The hotel is in the center of Florence and within walking distance of anywhere in the city core. The Ponte Vechio Bridge was a block away on one side and the Uffizi Gallery was the same distance on the other side. Breakfast was great. Served in a beautiful dining hall. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were surprised when we checked into our room, number 101 (on the second floor) as it was more like a suite than a regular room with a pleasant view of the Arno River. Unfortunately, the bedroom was up a flight of stairs from the living room. This would have been great in our younger years but at this point in our lives not so much. So we spoke to the staff about it and were able to switch to number 102, right next door. Standard room configuration with the same view and much more to our liking. There's a very nice rooftop bar with both indoor and outdoor seating, too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.Show More

It's also an easy walking distance...The Hotel Degli Orafi is a beautiful hotel with an amazing location being situated just steps from the Ponte Vecchio to the right and the Ufizzi gallery to the left. It's also an easy walking distance to the Piazza Republica and the Duomo . The staff was warm and helpful. The design is contemporary, yet inviting and the rooms large and comfortable with nice amenities like a towel warmer in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet has many selections and is very good. The only downside is that the beds are very firm. Just be prepared for that. My husband and I had challenges getting used to it.Show More
