If y...The hotel itself is nice enough. Nice rooms, decent lighting, comfortable and clean. However, I would NOT recommend this hotel for travelling mothers who are needing to pump or store breast milk. If you are a solo traveler not requiring any type of freezer or accomodations, this is a great place. Otherwise, 0/10. --- I stayed here for a work trip and they assured me that they could freeze my breast milk. I called ahead weeks before, I called ahead the day before, and I brought it up upon check in. I arrived on a Monday, and they said they would bring a freezer to my room. It's a mini fridge. I went down to the front desk and asked if they had a legitimate freezer that would freeze, as they had said they did on the phone multiple times. They said yes I just had to give them containers of my milk, and they would put it in the freezer in the back. It had to be self contained. The last three days I have given them containers filled with breast milk to put in the freezer to freeze. They assured me they would freeze it solid. Today as I'm getting ready to leave - nothing is frozen. The hotel did absolutely nothing to help me and they're completely screwing me over. It's likely that on top of having to scramble to figurebout how to travel with a ton of liquids (only frozen is okay for TSA) that I'm going to lose around 70 oz of breast milk because of their carelessness. When I spoke to the blond woman at the front desk, she simple stared at me and said "but there's ice in the freezer." Neat. Thanks. I'm now scrambling to figure out how to keep everything cold all day while I travel because not even the ice packs I added to the "freezer" on Monday are not frozen. The fact the simple ask of freezing something is so difficult is not only infuriating, but it speaks to how little Hotel Van Zandt considers mothers. A small ask to freeze something has been nothing short of a nightmare. I didn't realize that the difference between a fridge and a freezer required explanation. I am so disappointed and so upset following the end of my work trip. It has been a terrible way to end a challenging week. Other moms who breastfeed or pump or have ever just have to travel without your babies, know that I see you and I IMPLORE you to not stay here.Show More

The location is ideal — right on Rainey Street, surrounded by Austin’s best food, bars, and live music, yet the hotel feels calm and inviting once you step inside. The atmosphere is quintessential Austin — modern, artistic, and effortlessly cool. From the cozy lobby to the music-inspired décor, everything feels thoughtfully designed to make you feel relaxed and connected to the city’s energy. The hotel was very clean and well-kept, which made the stay feel comfortable and welcoming. Our room was extremely comfortable, with a plush bed, spacious layout, and thoughtful amenities. Being on the side of the building away from Rainey Street, it was wonderfully quiet despite the lively surroundings. Considering the location, amenities, and attentive staff, the hotel offered a great value for the experience. The rooftop pool was a highlight, with a fun yet relaxing vibe and attentive service. Geraldine’s, the hotel’s restaurant, impressed with outstanding food, expertly crafted cocktails, and live music in the evenings. BrassPoppy, the hotel’s bar, offered excellent service and a lively yet comfortable spot to unwind. The staff truly made our stay exceptional. The valet team, especially Matthew, Ajay, and Abby, along with the rest of the valet team, was wonderful, both upon arrival and anytime we needed our vehicle. Valet manager Josh ensures everything runs smoothly. The front desk team, Angela and Jordyn, were warm, helpful, and ready to answer every question. With stylish design, perfect location, quiet and comfortable rooms, attentive staff, and a welcoming atmosphere, Hotel Van Zandt is a true five-star experience. We can’t wait to return!Show More

Came down from Utah for the A&M game and decided to make a full weekend out of it in Austin. I’d never stayed in the Rainey Street area before, and Hotel Van Zandt ended up being the perfect home base...Came down from Utah for the A&M game and decided to make a full weekend out of it in Austin. I’d never stayed in the Rainey Street area before, and Hotel Van Zandt ended up being the perfect home base. It’s literally steps from all the bars and restaurants on Rainey, and you’re right by Lady Bird Lake and the trail, so I could grab coffee and walk along the water before diving back into the football chaos. The vibe of the hotel is very “cool Austin” without feeling try-hard. Lobby’s dark, cozy, and stylish with a music theme, and there were complimentary margaritas in the afternoon which did NOT hurt. Rooms are modern and comfortable with a gray/blue color scheme, good shower, and nice city views. I also appreciated the rooftop pool area, a great spot to chill after being packed into a stadium all day. Now, the real MVPs of the weekend were the valet team. This was a crazy game weekend with people checking in nonstop, cars lined up, and everyone in a hurry to get to their tailgates. Even with all that, the valet crew kept things moving smoothly, stayed friendly, and never seemed stressed. Our valet, AJ, was out there in the heat juggling a ton of cars, but he still took a second to joke with us about coming all the way from Utah just to yell for A&M, gave us quick directions, and made sure our car was pulled up fast when we were running late. At the end of the night when everyone was trying to leave Rainey at once, he recognized us, got our ticket, and had the car up way quicker than I expected given the crowd. Overall, if you’re coming into Austin for a big event or game, I’d absolutely stay here again. Great location, fun atmosphere, and even on a slammed weekend, the staff made everything feel easy.Show More
