The location was convenient to the cruise port. But let’s be real, we could have gotten all of that for half the cost at Best Western. We came for the boujee perks that didn’t exist.
Every single “perk” of the fancy hotel was inconvenient and bad. There were “free” drinks, but the bartenders were annoyed that we were there and the service was terrible. We actually decided not to visit the hotel restaurant again because we were treated so poorly at the restaurant for free drinks and a dessert. The bartender acted annoyed to pour a glass of wine and it took 45 minutes to get a slice of pie. (That we paid for.)
We were also pretty excited about the complimentary breakfast. Everyone loves breakfast and it looked great! There was an omelet station and everything! Peak luxury! Unfortunately, this hotel had 1200 rooms and like 16 tables for everyone to eat. It was impossible to get a seat and so crowded that I would have rather just paid for breakfast. OH WAIT, we did pay for breakfast because it was $300/night. I just didn’t GET breakfast because it was so overcrowded and badly executed. We got coffee and left because the crowd wasn’t worth it and we didn’t want to eat standing up. We left hungry.
Also, there was no room service available so it’s not like we could have avoided all this and just ate in our room. I suppose we could have brought the breakfast upstairs on our own but since there was a massive number of people it was almost impossible to get an elevator up or down during breakfast hours. They clearly wanted us to go downstairs to eat even though they couldn’t accommodate more than 3% of the guests.
We could have stayed at Best Western and had breakfast at iHop for less than we spent on this hotel. In fact we could have probably gotten a complimentary breakfast at Best Western for half the cost and actually been able to sit down to and eat it. Either way the hotel didn’t live up to the luxury price we paid.
I guess we didn’t get bed bugs… so that’s great, I guess. But I’ve never been to a worse Embassy Suites than this one.
If you want a nice room for $300/night then sure, stay here. If you’re looking for some extra perks, I’d say go to La Quinta or something because it will cost much less and probably be executed better. I gave it 3 stars because there was no permanent damage but we also wouldn’t stay there again. I’d choose something less expensive next time and just pay for the “luxury” of having breakfast while sitting down.Show More
