I tried hard to like this hotel and our experience here was probably a matter of timing and circumstance.

Rooms were large well appointed.
We encountered a couple of issues. The first was that we were put in room 343, which whilst large and nice enough with a pool and glimpse of ocean view, was situated right next to the large air conditioning units on the building next door. The first night was sleepless as it sounded like a truck starting every time the compressors kicked it. The staff moved us to a room in the Northern wing the next night, which was a suite with similar view and much quieter, so I slept peacefully after that, but I really don’t believe the staff when they say people have never complained about the noise in that room before.
The next issue and this is only one of timing, is that they were demolishing and renovating the southern cabana area, which meant loud and constant jackhammering all day while at the pool, which they tried to drown out by turning up the music. I ended up having to leave as I was getting a headache. Once again, the helpful staff, who couldn’t really do anything about it, and credited the resort fee when I complained on checkout, so they swiftly and correctly did the right thing. My comment was that they should have advised people about it when booking. The gym had also been demolished but they had arranged access either to the next door hotel gym or to a local gym called Gymage, which was great.
I used the share bikes the hotel had. Good and drink were pricey, but I guess standard for Miami. Note that they add 20%service charge to every bill, so take that into account when considering tipping, so you don’t double up.
We were there on a package that included a $60 voucher for breakfast which said could get you a main, coffee and juice. With two mains and no juice, including the 20%service , you could not get breakfast for $60 .
The other thing to note is that you could get chairs and umbrellas by the pool, but only chairs in their beach club. If you wanted an umbrella, that was an extra $30.
We also came back to our room at 4:20 ready to shower to go out and found that housekeeping were just about to start on it, which is a bit late in the day and inconvenient
We really enjoyed our stay and the staff were fantastic, but just a couple of noise issues brought it down to 4 Star.Show More
