8.4(1042)5/10 A Slice of Paradise with a Side of Unexpected Beats
The National Hotel in Miami is undeniably a stunning property. From the moment you step into the art deco lobby, you're transported to a glamorous era of sophisticated style. The breathtaking architecture, inviting pools, and overall ambiance exude tranquility and luxury. The staff, without exception, were fantastic, providing genuinely warm and helpful service that prioritized our comfort. Every interaction, from the front desk to the pool attendants, showcased impeccable service, which was a highlight of our stay. The National Hotel has so much to offer, with its beauty and exceptional staff truly commendable. However, the handling of the BDM music festival and its impact on hotel guests needs serious reconsideration. Better pre-arrival communication about such large-scale events, a more thoughtful approach to amenity access during these times, and a willingness to accommodate guests financially when their experience is affected are crucial.
While I would still recommend The National for its inherent charm and wonderful team, I strongly advise future guests to inquire about any large events coinciding with their stay and to ensure clear communication regarding potential disruptions and guest accommodations. With a few adjustments, The National Hotel could truly be an unblemished paradise.

2/10 HIdeous and tacky renovation, constant noise
We used to come here when our children were young. It was an art deco gem: elegant, beautiful, gracious, and comfortable. But it has been renovated, and whoever was in charge should hang themselves in shame. They completely destroyed the hotel's character, filling it with ugly furniture, hideous "art", and trashy knick-knacks on every surface. The lobby looks like a HomeGoods warehouse sale. See photos below of the inexplicably decorated room (smoky mirrors circa 1986, Moroccan lamps, a photo of a car, and ... Elvis?). On the opposite wall, a fridge that looks like an amp and a flamingo? Service is kind but unprofessional; on two occasions, they ran out of towels at the beach but "couldn't leave their station." Worst of all is the pivot to be be more of a "party hotel" and the resulting noise: the thump-thump music pumped into the lobby, and the idiotic DJ by the pool. Add to that the construction next door that looks like it is months away from completion. We had to leave the hotel for quiet. And tacky begets tacky: guests are primarily 30-somethings day-drinking in the pool while taking selfies. It may be an adults-only hotel but this is no place for grown-ups.

10/10 2nd Stay and we will be back!
This is the second time we have stayed at The National. We absolutely love it. The proximity to the beach and to all of the amenities that Miami Beach and South Beach have the offer are unparalleled. We love the staff there and how attentive they are to us. The morning coffee is superb and we love being able to walk out and watch the sunrise on the beach in the morning. The pools are beautiful And the pool staff is amazing. We felt very well taken care of and attended to. The restaurant is very good and we enjoyed a couple of really nice breakfasts and dinner there, as well as a number of lunch items at the pool side restaurant and bar. The paella at the restaurant is delicious and the burrata salad by the pool is great. We also love the Italian bakery right across the street and being able to walk to Lincoln Road and Española Española Way. Our room was great. Very comfortable and we slept well. We also love that there are no kids and that we were able to attend a yoga class by the pool. We will be back!

10/10 On a PQR basis, must be one of the best in Miami
No doubt there are fancier, shinier hotels in Miami these days, but for me this ticked all the boxes at a very reasonable price. A genuine sense of old school glamour. And yes, that pool really is as stunning in real life! Breakfast is a 10/10 too, and served in such a lovely spot at the end of the garden.
If I were being picky, the older rooms in the original part of the hotel have very small windows. But such is life with heritage buildings. The view from my room on the 7th floor was really just roof tops with a slither of sea peeping over, but my friend's room 2 floors up had a stunning vista of the beach. So I'd suggest that it's only worth paying the premium for a sea view room if you can get floor 9 upwards.
Overall, a true gem and a well deserved 5/5

I purchased beach chairs at the national hotel and Elijah made it such an easy and seamless experience. He provided top notch service and he checked in through out the day to see if we needed anything that could improve our stay. He made our day at the beach so enjoyable with his bubbly personality and exceptional service.

The hotel did not disappoint. The pool staff was friendly and attentive and made our stay memorable. They had an amazing entertainer in the lounge on Saturday night and the burnt basque cheesecake is enough to get us back again. We look forward to a return visit.

We book a couple of nights before a cruise. It felt like we had a vacay before our vacay! The bed was comfortable, the service was friendly, the location was great and the pools were wonderful.

Excellent location, gorgeous pool, fun bar, great beach service, comfy room, great food and awesome vibe. I love the historic Art Deco style and the staff is very helpful as well.

Staff were excellent. Location, hotel layout, location and food were great. We liked that there were robes and slippers in the room. The private iron was a nice touch and the bed was relatively comfortable.

8/10 Easy breezy times at the National where the service is great as are the pools. Life is good!
The pools were amazing and just like the pictures. Maybe a little more landscaping/flowers would make it pop even more, but really nice. The service art the pools was great as well, towels, setting up for you, people asking if you wanted a drink or food...you were never waiting long at all.
The room was a little small, but nice for one person. Clean, excellent pressure in the shower and I had a centerline direct ocean view. You aren't doing much better.
The front desk and hotel staff were on point. Any concerns, addressed. Bags? Taken and quickly retrieved. The decor is elegant, and everything felt as it should, Very welcoming.
The location couldn't be better. Walk to Lincoln Road and the pedestrian mall. Walk to Ocean Drive. Easy to get to anything.
The music was excellent, but they don't have their own DJ. It's from the Sagamore and the SLS pools next door on either side, so my compliments to them. Free music, woohoo!
