We rather like boutique hotels, the definition of which is a bit fuzzy. Still, the desire to avoid the big chains and settle in to a hotel with some character and charm has risks and rewards. No question a lot of patience, passion ans style were invested (and money) in restoring an old warehouse on the fringe of the French Quarter and turning it into an attractive small hotel. Sadly, it seems they then turned it over to the accountants to run. We arrived on a Saturday night three hours late for a 5 night stay. Having missed linch and dinner thanks to the air traffic fallout from the government shutdown, the welcome was underwhelming. The hotel door was locked with a sign you have to use your key card to enter. No one was at the front desk which we could see through the glass door. Desperate for a solution, I did see a lady wearing a Security band on her arm. She was sitting in the bar. I got her attention by scrapping a ring on the door.. She gott us in, and we proceeded to the empty desk. Eventually, the night clerk showed up and checked us in. The public rooms and our hotel room are attractive. The king bed was comfortable. The shower area generous, toiletries and towels of superior quality. We won't save the planey by reusing towels, but are amenable to their not making the bed everyday. But having to go to the front desk every morning to ask for towels and the assortment never being complete is annoying. Whenever I see the term "continental breakfast" alarm bells go off. Which continent? American hotels use the term as a euphemism for industrial muffins, black water coffee and butter and synthetic cream cheese in miscroscopic plastic containers. If I wanted catering from SYSCO, I would go to a Hampton Inn. Snippets of melon and strawberries with no appreciation of whether they are ripe or not, prepackaged pancackes and waffles with artificial syrup might be expected at 40,000 feet (or in space), but not at this price point. The ninth versio of Danone yogurt is not impressive. The hotel staff are pleasant enough if a bit detached. They are a skeleton crew and I suspect don;t see themselves as hoteliers. There is no manager in sight. "Ivy", their virtual assistant sends texts. She should be relegated to virtual guests, not real ones. The hotel location is handy. The rooms quiet and comfortable. But no one will ever know whether we have been here or care if we return. We won't.Show More

One11 deliv...Hotel stock in New Orleans is in a pretty grim state in 2025, so we were looking forward to trying a new hotel that wasn’t ferociously expensive but new (not grungy, grim, and depressing). One11 delivered for our three night stay. Great location, clean, nicely appointed. Rooms in photos are accurate. The bar/restaurant is a stunted operation, but the available lobby lounge seating is spacious and came in quite handy for us. We didn’t try the pool. Caveat 1: while the hotel itself is reasonably quiet, it is located near the train tracks, and you quite likely will hear the train in the middle of the night. Didn’t really bother us, but it probably bothers some folks. Caveat 2: the bathrooms have sliding doors hung 1.5 inches off the wall. To whit, if there’s more than one of you, it is impossible to do anything in the bathroom privately. Frankly, the door might as well not be there. Sliding hotel bathroom doors are a terrible idea, and these are perfect examples of why. Worse, the bathrooms have translucent glass walls, so any light in the bathroom will flood the sleeping area. Moreover, if you have a corner room with a window in the bathroom, your room will never be dark. So, if you’re traveling to New Orleans alone, One11 might be a great option.Show More

All areas exceeded our expectations....not that it could be changed....but a big ugly casino hotel on the same street, and parking lots on two sides especially if you were on the second floor and look...All areas exceeded our expectations....not that it could be changed....but a big ugly casino hotel on the same street, and parking lots on two sides especially if you were on the second floor and looking out the window. Rooms are plenty big enough depending on your price point, well decorated, great modern bathrooms with interesting metal foundational structures in the passageway on your way to and from the elevator (it was once a sugar refinery). Excellent value for money. Reception area is art deco with personalized sitting spaces with large comfy furniture. Pool is a nice addition....just big enough for a dip or a few lengths. Staff are wonderful generally and the breakfast was a 'nice' surprise given the price point, but imho not that necessary as to enhance the stay...but it was enough until we could go and find a breakfast joint or a biegnet nearby. There are so many choices to stay, but we would definitely return....just far enough from the 'action', close enough (and safe) to get back to with a uber/lyft/walk. Coterie was recommended to us as a 'nearby' to eat at....a great call!Show More

I didn't have any issues. I actually like that ground public parking is available just outside the door. I parked right beside the building. If you get fined, that's on you. Be a responsible adult and pay attention to how long you reserve the spot and renew it on time. Yes, you'll hear some trains (but you would hear that if you stayed at Caesars, Hilton, Monteleone, Westin, Harrahs, or basically any other hotel), and yes a couple times a day you'll hear the Calliope from Steamboat Natchez. But that's part of the charm of the city. And unless you forgo enjoying the location of staying in the French Quarter, you're going to hear that from EVERY hotel in the area. So I don't consider that to be a valid complaint. It's part of what you go to the French Quarter for. Next you'd complain that there were drunks on Bourbon Street. HA! But had zero issues with the room. Everything went smoothly. Will definitely return.Show More
