They simply gave me a new key and advised me of my new room #. 2) There was nothing done to try and right the poor people experience. 3) Worst of all there was nothing done about it! I know this because I had to return to the room the next day to gather one of my belongings I had left, and it still smelled the same!! On checkout day I had left my bag in the room as I was attending an event in the hotel. I then received a call from the hotel that I was past my checkout time and that they would be charging me $75. I said I was unaware of the policy and would grab my bag immediately, but they said it was too late. I then went to the front desk to explain the situation to the manager, and she was completely unaccommodating. She simply reminded me of their policies (which I wasn’t aware of). This experience completely turned me off to ever wanting to stay here in the future.Show More

A helpful staff seems engaged in making stays comfortable. Facilities are lovely and clean. However, be prepared for extra expenses to be on the extremely high side for an in house market plus each purchase has added 5% surcharge even for basic items. If I had been aware of all of the extra fees and surcharges that are automatically added for everything from a CAN of soda (already priced at $5 before fees) I would have made a prior stop at a convenience store to stock up before checking in. A quick refrigerator sandwich is $17 and up. A candy bar or muffin is $9. Just as an FYI for those who need to know about unexpected expenses. Convenience is definitely highly priced and surcharged here in line with what you typically find at Ritz Carlton resorts. Starbucks is located on the bottom floor with regular prices. The Seaport Village is less than half a mile walk away where you can grab coffee and a few items that are a bit cheaper.Show More

When we arrived our room wasn’t quite ready yet which was fine as we were early, but when it was Shawn at the conc...I went on a special trip to celebrate my anniversary and a carefree kid free weekend. When we arrived our room wasn’t quite ready yet which was fine as we were early, but when it was Shawn at the concierge desk made every detail of our anniversary truly special. He took the time to help us figure out what things to do such as a concert right next to the hotel at the amphitheater which was so much fun, mentioned that their would also be fireworks and approximately what time. He helped book my massage, and gave us great tips on where to go for delicious meals downtown. Over all Shawn went above and beyond helping create a wonderful and memorable stay for us. If you’re ever stay in San Diego and stay at the Bayfront request for Shawn as he truly knows San Diego. His suggestions were on mark and treats his guest with respect and kindness. The hotel view was beautiful and the room was nice and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel.Show More
