I contacted the property immediately and was told it would be shipped to me after I mailed them a return label, which I sent the next day. Weeks passed with no delivery, and when I followed up, I was informed the staff member responsible had left the job. Despite multiple calls, in-person visits, and promises from supervisors that the general manager would contact me, I never received a single follow-up. I returned to the hotel six to eight weeks later and stayed again, hoping to resolve the issue. I visited the front desk three separate times, spoke to supervisors, and even sent a detailed email—but still no response. The lack of professionalism and accountability was deeply disappointing, especially from a Hilton Curio property. I expected better service and communication. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider future stays with Hilton brands.Show More

I had a terrible experience with this hotel. I made a deposit on Wednesday afternoon to use their private dining room in Sea and Sky Restaurant for a future event. They charged me a fee to use a credi...I had a terrible experience with this hotel. I made a deposit on Wednesday afternoon to use their private dining room in Sea and Sky Restaurant for a future event. They charged me a fee to use a credit card for a deposit. I do not live in the area. On Sunday, 4 days later, I visited the event space and found it unsatisfactory. The restaurant also had no record of my reservation. I initiated a cancellation that day. I was given a lot of circle talk by the coordinator, Shylee. She was adamant I tell her my reasons for cancelling but would not commit to any refund. I finally spoke with her supervisor Kaia, and was given the same circle talk and third degree with no promise of a refund. She kept referencing “force majure” which was apparently a clause in the contract. When I asked what that meant, she said she thought I would use the information to make up a lie to get out of my contract. I assured her I’m not a liar and I don’t appreciate being called one by a stranger. I got a weak apology at best. They were trying to get me to give them a reason for cancellation, so they could reference their contracts force mujure and tell me I had no out option. Finally I reached out to the hotel GM. I got similar circle talk, with the end result being, they would keep my $950 deposit but as a “courtesy” they would not persue another $950 for the event. This event was scheduled for 28 days later from my cancellation date. So from day 1, their contract states they will keep your 50% deposit and you are obligated to pay the other 50% whether you use the space or not. I fully admitted I missed the fine print and ask for help from the GM, Stormi. She and her other staff were like a broken record reminding me that signed a contract and they would not help me. Now I’m out almost $1000 for no service or product. Predatory organization with bad process and people. I would not recommend doing business with this organization.Show More

Th...I want so badly to love this hotel. Staff was amazing, room was immaculate and modern, close and convenient to the beach. I have, however, attached the photo of my sleeptracker, which says it all. The premises is adjacent to two very busy roads in La Jolla. I'm familiar with La Jolla and knew its proximity, however when I booked I failed to appreciate just how busy these roads are. Most cars that drove by literally rattled the building. I had two loud white noise machines, foam earplugs, and a pillow over my head, and still barely slept. Other minor downsides: Like most modern Hilton hotels I've stayed in this year, the smoke detector has a piercing green strobe light feature. Thankfully I had an eye mask. The hotel should offer them at the front desk. Also, the pool is 3' deep throughout - ridiculously shallow for any type of exercise - can't even tread water in it. It's too bad, because the pool deck is gorgeous. All told, I had a wonderful experience here. But it left me sleep-deprived and exhausted. Gave me more time to savor the memories, I guess!Show More
