Having walked past this place a bunch of times as the hotel Monaco, I wasn't sure what to expect under the new mana...One of the best hotel experiences we've had to date and my new favourite in Chicago. Having walked past this place a bunch of times as the hotel Monaco, I wasn't sure what to expect under the new management, however from the moment of arrival to our departure, I loved every moment of our stay at this hotel. The hotel contacted us in advance to find out if we had any special requests and whether we were celebrating anything. We let them know that our trip was to celebrate our anniversary and we we're over the moon to find a bottle of bubbly and a handwritten note in our room on night one. We arrived on an early flight and went straight to the hotel to drop our bags. Despite the early hour (11am), the reception staff were super accommodating and able to get us checked in right away which was a real bonus. Our room was 810, with a city view. The window seat with a view of marina city did not disappoint! The room was perfectly clean, modern and with high ceilings. There was a coffee machine in the room which was replenished daily and filtered water available in the bathroom. The room also had a fridge, robes, a safe and a yoga mat and weights! Whilst there was no iron, there was a handheld steamer. The bathroom had a shower and small bath, bath products, face masks and a hairdryer. The room was cleaned daily and the cleaning staff did a fabulous job. Not only was the room spotless but so were all of the communal areas in the hotel. The hotel lobby was really welcoming with sofas and a fire, and was decorated for Christmas. Coffee and tea were available in the lobby for most of the day along with popcorn between 4pm and 6pm. Location wise the hotel was perfect for getting into the loop and catching the El, or heading over to Millennium Park. Based on this experience I would 100% recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again. Thank you to the team for providing such a wonderful stay.Show More

Walking ...This is an amazing hotel. The location is excellent, in a very safe area, close to public transport and very easy to walk around to see the sights. The Chicago River Walk is across the road. Walking into the hotel lobby to be greeted by blazing fire in the fireplace after a chilly day exploring Chicago was just delightful; such a treat to sit by the fire in the lobby reading a book. The staff of L7 were exceptionally friendly and willing to assist with any question. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I was greeted by Alex on my arrival and he could not have been more accommodating and welcoming. Just one of the many wonderful staff working at L7. My room exceeded any expectation. I had a fantastic view over the river with a "little window seat". - great for watching passive river traffic or the twinkling lights of the Chicago skyline The room itself was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the amenities were luxurious. A welcoming (and delicious) cupcake was in my room when I arrived The added touch of a rejuvenating face mask was most unexpected and gratefully received and used. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel and I would absolutely stay there again.Show More

But that’s not what we are here to talk about - we are here to talk about Antonio Santizo. Our family has been traveling to Chicago routinely for the last 13 years. Not only do anticipate seeing Antonio on each trip…we begin and end our days excited to share them with Antonio. He is always welcoming and smiling and curious about our day. He has extensive recommendations for everyone in our group. Anything we might need, be it from the hotel or during our stay, he personally sees to it. Imagine having a friend you look forward to catching up with when you are in Chicago who also does nice and thoughtful things for you at every turn. He is a host of the highest order who brings honor and finesse and art to his profession. He is one of the coolest humans (and snazziest dressers) we have met in our travels. Do yourself a favor and visit Antonio (you can check out Chicago while you’re at it.) ❤️Show More
