First of all, the use of the word “secluded” in the site’s description is totally misleading. The beaches, including those outside of the $1,000 a day bungalows, are open to the public, so you are not secluded in any way shape or form. This did not appear to be listed in the website and our secluded beach, in what was supposed to be a quite respite, is filled with people who park nearby and set up tents, grills, and boom boxes right in front of these high cost units. To add insult to injury, someone will rent a cabana and invite 20 or 30 of their closest friends to come join them on the public beach in front of the unit. This is NOT a private resort in any way shape or form. I don’t have an issue with the concept, I have an issue with the fact that if I knew the beach and my front door was going to host the homeless and dozens of people were going be walking across our front door every hour, then I’d have stayed someplace the defines true luxury, as opposed to a facility that wants to be perceived as high end and conveniently opts to the fact that it is not.
Our “luxury cabana” was the second most disgusting room I’ve ever experienced in 42 years of travel. Dust and mold laden baseboards, a chunk of glass on the floor when we entered, cobwebs, pink mold in the shower and stains on furnishings, walls and ceilings. These are just the major issues, but I’m sure folks will get the point. To their credit, the front desk did rapidly provide us sheets so we could actually sit on the couch. Even after asking for a “thorough cleaning” the room was
was still gross.
Our pool experience was another disappointment. 7 of us ( all paying for separate rooms) sat in lounges for 5 hours and the waitresses didn’t once bother to stop and ask if we wanted anything. I just don’t understand.
Our experience with the restaurant a were good and the recreation staff gets an A for accommodating a last minute request for a private bonfire set up. While they advertise fire pits on the beach as a guest amenity, these are actually public fire pits and people place chairs and umbrellas on them at the crack of dawn to lock them I’ll for an evening bonfire.
We were here for a celebration of life event with 40 other people and almost everyone was disappointed and underwhelmed in general. It’s a perfectly good waste of a beautiful site, but if you want a high end experience, I suggest you stay elsewhere. Parrot Cay….here we come! If we were not part of a large private group wanting to stay together, we would have checked out 30 seconds after checking in.Show More
