Although I booked through a third party, the reception at check-in was warm and friendly — thanks to Farooq and Osbaldo (OBI). They clearly explained all the benefits and made the arrival, the stay, and the departure feel effortless.
Every staff interaction throughout the stay was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Breakfast at CDA was beautifully prepared, with fresh pastries and attentive service that never felt rushed. I enjoyed the Sofitel Benedict and the Sofitel Breakfast Croissant the next morning. For dinner, Le Bar offers a mix of French, Italian, and Chicago-style dishes, along with a great bar where you can relax with your favorite cocktail.
My room on the 19th floor was quiet, large, great views, spotless, and well-maintained. The signature Sofitel bedding basically feels like it hugs you after a long travel day. I requested specific pillows, and housekeeping delivered them the same morning. The bathroom was spacious and featured both a bathtub and a separate shower, with amenities you’d expect from a solid 4–5-star hotel.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel felt calm, polished, and thoughtfully run.
The location is excellent — within a five-minute walk of the Chicago Red Line station, close to great restaurants, cafés, the John Hancock Center, and many shopping outlets, malls, and grocers. Despite being right in the heart of the city, the hotel maintained a sense of comfort, privacy, and safety that I truly appreciated.
