I work hard for a living, I'm not an "influencer," so take this review accordingly. Everything at the W Hotel Ft. Lauderdale for our short family vacation was excellent. The staff at every turn was professional, polite and helpful. Patel at the front desk during our check-in was extremely patient and accommodating despite some of our changes. The bell staff was quick off the mark. The room was clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff greeted our requests with a smile. Excellent exercise equipment and pools, and the lively pool staff was very efficient at clearing out the "all-day-towel-on-the-chair" squatters. Top notch beach facilities and a shoutout to drinks czar Richard who made us laugh everyday. Great location in FLL and do not miss the Vegan and/or El Vez Mexican restaurant (try the Snapper tacos). Hailey at the Living Room made us feel very welcome, and greeted us warmly when we came back. Checking out at the front desk we said goodbye to Patel who thanked us for our stay and Christopher who handled a last minute request. I've focused on the names here because what set this hotel apart for our family was the staff; polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was excellent ... location, rooms, amenities, food ... but what really stood out for us was that in every interaction we had with hotel staff, from passing in the hallway to fulfilling specific requests, we were treated above and beyond. This was our first stay here and we're already planning to come back.

This was one of the worst hotel experienced ever.
The most egregious was that a hotel this size had 2 of the 3 elevators out all week. This resulted in extremely long waits, overcrowded elevators and needing to use the stairs most days. The capacity for the elevators was exceeded every day and we were stuck in the elevator for 45 minutes one morning. The stairs were dirty, dusty and slippery .
When we checked in we were told we would receive a 35 $ credit for each room at the Living Room bar from 6- 9 PM. The bar was closed every night for private events. That's 115 $ per night lost. When I asked if we could use it at the other bar they said NO. Room service was a joke - probably linked to the elevator situation . We ordered twice and both times it took an hour and a half to arrive and was ice cold. The "waiter" even said it was not his fault, it was the elevators.
Housekeeping was also an issue as many things were never replaced- glasses, coffee, tissues.
The furniture is very dated, stained and musty.
On the beach the chairs were stopped at 5 - absurd as the sun goes down at 8.
For any hotel this was horrible but for a W it is unacceptable.

10/10 Enjoyable Stay
My wife and I spent three days at the W. Proximity to the beach is the main attraction, but not the only one. The hotel is in a good shape, clean and provides good customer service. Reception associates Dinesh, Christopher and Janice were very helpful.
The only disappointment was that we were charged for the minibar, which we never used. That issue was quickly resolved after a call to the business office, but we would recommend that guests check their hotel bills after their stay. Next time in Fort Lauderdale we will definitely consider the W.

Chris and Trevor were absolutely awesome! They got our chairs and umbrella and bed and catered to us all day. They were so friendly, kind, and honest. They made our day.. we weren’t going to be able to stay long because we didn’t have an umbrella. We found them and they helped us greatly. We are a family of 5.

I went to the beach with my boyfriend and luis was so attentive and helpful. he set up chairs for us and laid out each of our towels and was very kind. We can both agree that this had made our stay here more enjoyable and relaxed. Thank you for being so helpful luis!

The room was spacious with a large balcony. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable.

rooms are outdated for the price , staff is NOT friendly, especially cleaning staff, they do not start cleaing rooms until 10 AM I was told, and did not get to my room until 4 or 5 PM, I do not need the nit cleaned at that time, this was the worst Mariot stay , and very overpriced for the experiance. I will never again book at this hotel in Fort lauderdale. Very disapointing

First, all the positive feedback, The hotel is beautiful, the room was extremely comfortable the location was wonderful, all the public areas were luxurious and well maintained. The biggest amenity was the staff, everyone my family had contact with was amazing!
