The location is perfect and feels very safe; it’s a short walk from the Powell BART Station, steps from Union Square, and near every major bus line. The surrounding area is incredibly convenient, with short walking access to Target, Trader Joe's, Macy's, and more.
The atmosphere is genuinely welcoming—it feels less like a cold hotel and more like coming home. I especially loved the unlimited complimentary homemade cookies, fresh apples, popcorns and the high-end coffee machine in the lobby. The bar area offers very comfortable seating for enjoying coffee or a self-prepared breakfast.
The rooms were wonderfully comfortable. The bedding quality is superb; sleeping on the high-quality mattress truly felt like being wrapped in a cloud, allowing me to sleep soundly through the night. I stayed in three different rooms during my trip and found that even the rooms facing the bustling Powell Street were very quiet, with absolutely no traffic noise issues.
The bathroom was clean and bright, featuring a bathtub and thoughtful amenities like bath salts, perfect for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing. The rooms also include an overhead fan, opening windows for fresh air, and a spacious walk-in closet. (Note: Guests should remember to bring their own toothbrush, toothpaste, and slippers, as the hotel supports the environment by not providing single-use disposables, which I fully endorse!)
The most memorable part, however, was the staff. Every single employee I met over the 12 days was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. By the end of my stay, their kindness made me feel like I was staying among old friends!
A special thank you to Shirley and the Reservations team. When I accidentally left behind a bag with a very important book, they responded with the fastest possible speed, immediately putting my mind at ease. They located the items instantly and would kindly store them for months. This level of unmatched care and dedication is extraordinary.
