I didn't know exactly what to expect, but I ended up being really glad I chose it. The location is one of those things you don't fully appreciate until you're moving around the city all day — I had meetings in the Financial District, Back Bay, Seaport, Copley, and Beacon Hill, and this location made everything so much easier to get to. But what stood out the most was the staff, and I want to acknowledge that clearly because it made a real difference in my experience. People here were genuinely kind and helpful in a way that felt natural. I want to specifically mention Stefano Mancinelli at the front desk. He was calm, attentive, and professional in a way that felt really genuine. That kind of steady presence is what actually makes a place memorable. The hotel itself is beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxed without feeling empty. My room was quiet, clean, and comfortable in that way where you walk in after a long day and immediately feel like you can exhale. I got room service one night and the person who brought it up was friendly and warm. Little things like that add up. This was my first stay here, but it didn't feel like a first stay — it felt like the kind of place where you could easily settle into a rhythm every time you're back in the city. We had breakf...We recently spent two lovely nights at the Intercontinental Boston on Atlantic Ave. where we had a spacious room with luxury bedding and very comfy pillows and lovely soaps and lotions. We had breakfast at the buffet one morning and it was varied and delicious. There was an omelette station and you could order several options like eggs benedict as part of the buffet. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant but did have drinks two nights at the bar called Fellini's (?) where we ordered appetizers for our table and they were delicious. We were served by Mohammed both nights. The first night there was a small mistake in one of our drink orders and Mohammed took care of it immediately which was much appreciated. He was very professional but with a quick sense of humor as well. We found all staff to be friendly and welcoming. The location of the Intercontinental is great as a tourist or for business (easy access to the financial district as well as the Seaport district. We have stayed at other Intercontinental hotels around the U.S. and found our Boston stay ranked right up with NYC or Chicago for luxury and exceptional service.Show More

All the staff we came into contact with were kind & courteous. We had an issue during our stay when I reported the fact that our bathroom door handle was falling off on the first night & despite querying the fact that it had not been fixed, it remained unfixed for the duration of our stay! Not what I would expect from such a prestigious hotel - we could not close the bathroom door subsequently as we were afraid that the handle would fall off & we would be trapped inside. I checked out in the normal way & was informed of a food bill of $34, which I agreed & then paid the bill. It was only on getting home & checking the bill that I was horrified to find the total was almost $200!!! I can take a few state taxes etc but what I was not expecting was a $35 per night "Amenity Fee" - what is this for? We didn't use any amenities apart from the Wi-Fi - surely that isn't charged at $35 per night! On querying this with IHG via an online chat & obtaining confirmation that someone from the hotel would contact me within 48 hours, I am extremely disappointed not to have received the courtesy of a reply over a week later. Not at all what I expect from IHG hotels - I am an IHG member although this trip was booked via British Airways, who made no mention of an extra $160 in taxes for our stay. It's put a sad ending on what was a beautiful trip to celebrate my Husband's 60th birthday.Show More

My wife and I stayed at IHG Boston for our 35th anniversary about 3 weeks ago. The room I sought (and thought I obtained based on speaking with the IHG booking agent) was a "King Classic Fort Point Ch...My wife and I stayed at IHG Boston for our 35th anniversary about 3 weeks ago. The room I sought (and thought I obtained based on speaking with the IHG booking agent) was a "King Classic Fort Point Channel Corner View." I was assured numerous times that this is the room I would have. I was also told that I would obtain 42,000 points and that each point was worth $10 (totaling $4200 worth of credit). I now know (from the staff at the actual hotel) that none of this was true. Although I tried to explain this when I arrived at the property, it was all in vain. To make matters worse, the room we stayed in was in terrible shape. The A/C rattled and made noise and the shower leaked water profusely. The water damage was such that it had to have occurred for a long duration because the door trim showed signs of extensive water damage. For the price I paid (over $700/night incl taxes), I was VERY disappointed. I must add the at staff, management and concierge were all very professional and courteous. But the booking/reservation person who provided false information should be reprimanded or fired for inducing me to book with IHG under false pretenses.Show More
