It's in a great location, right on the river walk and "Avenue of Stars", and near to train stations for quick trips to anywhere in the city. I especially want to thank Carman Yeung, the Assistant Front Office Manager for her outstanding customer service. As a full time traveler and Diamond Elite IHG member, I stay in a lot of hotels. I expect that sometimes things don't go as I hope. But, it's how the problem is FIXED that shows the excellence of a hotel. There was confusion about my room reservation between the IHG customer support hotline and the Grand Stanford. Instead of being upgraded, it seemed to me that my room was downgraded when I applied a Suite Upgrade award. Carman took control of the situation, communicated with IHG on my behalf and SOLVED the problem with great concern for what was important to me. She exhibits what you'd expect from the staff at a top level hotel and she exceeded impressed me with how she solved the miscommunication. Thank you Carman! The food service is outstanding, especially the sprawling breakfast and the VERY kind staff in the restaurant. Housekeeping staff did a great job while remaining invisible, which is a good thing to have your room reset but not be inconvenienced by cleaning crew. Great job! Overall, this is an older hotel with a "classic" feel and outstanding service. It's in a great location with excellent food and customer-focused staff.Show More

Close the the MTR, some very good restaurants and not too far to walk along the harbor and tonthe main shopping areas and Star ferry, wharf. Staff amazing from the moment you get out of your car, super efficient. The club lounge has relocated downstairs, which to me is a little strange they dont want to showcase the harbor on higher floors, and one thing, it can be freezing in the lounge. on this visit numerous people put on jackets, jumpers, cardigans due to how cold it became at different times of the day/night. Hopefully management will review this. Food in the lounge is plentiful and breakfast was good, no need to go to the min breakfast area. Canapes and afternoon tea very good. Lounge staff are amazing, friendly. This visit we were on the 16th floor, which had great views of the harbor, the rooms are still tired and need renovating to keep up with more modern hotels but the bed was comfy and the room clean. If your happy not to be in a touristy busy area, this hotel and its location is really perfect. Highly recommended. Will stay again if we return to Hong Kong.Show More

The Club is excellent. The pool, while it might be more crowded in heavier periods of demand, was perfectly good. It definitely needs some updating and East Tsim Sha Tsui is a little out of the way. Taxi access to the airport, the Island and the rest of Kowloon is very good. A little thing - there's a local laundry just across the road that is happy to return your washed clothes to the hotel - when you've been traveling long-haul it's nice to get laundry cleaned at a reasonable cost. Overall, this hotel is very good value for money in Hong Kong.Show More
