If you're a US traveler, the hotel quality here is roughly a worn-down Hampton Inn. I felt genuinely cheated that Google Maps had this a "5-star" property which objectively it isn't.
We got breakfast included, which I would not recommend paying for. We stayed a few nights but only ate the breakfast once. I had the eggs benedict which were served with medium-boiled yolks - I'm no chef and even I can poach an egg. The breakfast room itself felt 30 degrees Celsius, patrons were visibly sweating through their clothes. We decided to just give up the rest of the trip.
Our room had stained carpeting, torn and stained upholstery on the chairs, shower heads crusted with mineral buildup so that the water sprays in odd directions with very low water pressure. Most of my night showers were OK in terms of temperature, but I took one shower in the morning and the hotel had just about run out of hot water.
The sink was 90% clogged - any water from the faucet would immediately back up into the sink. We killed a gnat in the room on our second day and washed it down the drain, every time we ran the sink it would float back up out of the pipe.
The rooms are very small, even the "Executive King" room we had was barely enough space for two people. The entire room was quite literally the size of the bathroom we had in the Piccadilly Circus hotel we had transferred from. The closet was full when we arrived, used for storage of random objects: a refrigerator, a radiator, a safe, all taking up space so you can only squeeze 3-4 items on hangers.
The outlets, which spark when you plug something in, have clearly not been updated in decades - no USBs. The mattresses were poor quality, as many other reviewers have said, they are old and worn-in. They put mattress toppers on them to try to make up for it, but those are sunken in as well. One of my top sheets had some gum or something tacky stuck to it.
Annoyingly, they refused to give us two keycards upon check-in. The person at the desk said it was for "sustainability reasons." This was a MAJOR inconvenience as my partner and I were often going in different directions, me working and him sight-seeing.
The building itself is old of course, the ceiling above us was creaking with other guests, audible footsteps, and I could hear loudly the voices in the adjacent rooms clear as day.
It's a pity. The property could be lovely with a full renovation, I suspect management is just too cheap to make the necessary changes. We found ourselves looking for alternate accommodations after just the first night, but ended up staying because of travel with a group.Show More
