10/10 Great hotel in a fantastic location
Just returned home from a great stay here, my first visit to NYC! Front desk let us check in 2 hours early with no extra charges - was really grateful for this after the 10 hour journey from Scotland. We stayed in a standard Metro queen room and it was on the small side as expected in NYC but it was fine for us. We didn't spend much time in our room anyway! We even had a nice little view :) Facing the "Edge" at Hudson Yards. Bed was perfectly comfortable. Drawers and a cupboard with hangers meant we could unpack some clothes. Shelf in bathroom for toiletries & toothbrushes plenty clean towels supplied. The room was very warm for us woke up very hot during the first nights sleep but we were able to adjust heat on thermostat which worked well. All staff we engaged with were very friendly. Elevators were very quick. We were able to leave our suitcases at the hotel on final day for $5 per piece (as shown on their website) as we were not flying home til 8pm. Hotel is in a great location so close to public transport links. Would stay here again 100% if I was fortunate enough to come back to NYC!

4/10 Disappointing
We stayed here for 5 days and the location is the main advantage of the hotel, nothing to add about that.
I don’t know if that’s a habit in the US but there was no coffee/tea provided neither a kettle in the room.
The room is smaller than the impression on the pictures, but that’s okay. However, we had an issue with the toilets where water was leaking. We complaint but the issue hasn’t been fixed during our stay.
Also we had to pay 5$ PER suitcase for storage the last day since our train was in the evening. I find that expensive.

9/10 Overall, really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay there again for our next trip.
Location was excellent. The room was a good size (Executive Double), the noise level in the hotel was very quiet (there was street noise but that's to be expected). The Tick Tock Diner and the Butcher and Banker restaurants in the hotel were very good. There were plenty of elevators and we never had to wait more than a few seconds and they were never crowded.

Perfect location - within walking distance of Broadway, Times Square, even Central Park, and many other attractions, right across the street from Penn Station and near Port Authority bus terminal, easy access to subway. Lobby is nice. The reception staff let us check in about one hour earlier. Comfy bed. Convenient closet with a safe. Several nice restaurants on site.

10/10 Perfect Location for a Visit to NYC
Can't beat the location, imo! Not in Times Square, but just beyond it (literally next door to Madison Square Garden); across the way from Penn Station, so transportation was very easy! The room was very clean (and cleaned every day - vacummed, bathroom cleaned; beds made; new towels), and we had a great view! I was with my 16 year old daughter for her first trip to NYC, and she loved it. It made me feel better that there were always security guards at the elevators to check to be sure the people admitted to that area were actually guests. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Rates were reasonable for the location and amenities. Highly recommend!

9/10 Great stay, great hotel!
Amazon hotel. Great location. Subway & train station few steps away. We were offered an upgrade by booking.com a few days before & took it to upgrade to family suite. We got the Muhammad Ali room! Lots of space but the bathroom definitely needs a revamp. Paint peeling off the walls & bath tub. Shower had four very powerful jets that didn’t make for a comfortable shower. That’s my only criticism. Beds were really comfy, not too much city noise ( we were on floor 25) and rooms warm. Staff were helpful when we needed them. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

10/10 A New Yorker experience
I love staying here, my room had a beautiful view to the city, location couldn't be better, staff was very friendly! I like the way they keep the vintage style of the hotel, and that makes it very special, but i think a remodeling was needed: the doors have some cracks from the paint, the toilet in my room was a little rotated from the wall, etc. Just a few details I think needed attention.
Overall I love staying here, I love my little room with the most amazing view (at night even better!)

10/10 Great Place to Stay and Great Value in NYC
Terrific location in the heart of NYC! An older hotel with character that is clean. Stayed on 23rd floor but elevators are very quick and half of the elevators service floors 1-20 and other half cover 21-40, so really not a long ride was ever felt. Felt very safe as hotel staff check to make sure you have room key/ are definitely a hotel guest, before boarding the elevator. Towels are clean and fluffy. Beds comfortable. Great having Tik Tok Diner available 24 hours a day.

9/10 Lovely art deco hotel close to lots
We decided to stay here as an easier option for early flight on day we left. It’s so close to subway, which is complex but a faster way to get around. Some New Yorkans, think New Yorker, is a bit old and stale. It’s the last art deco hotel in New York, it's got character. It’s also close to Times Square and Empire State Building. Elijah on front desk was lovely, he checked in. Jibri on tour desk, was also lovely and helpful.

Hotel is an old establishment, no updates, so enjoy the nostalgia feeling. Provided a taxi pickup from airport to hotel, a nice service.

8/10 Starting Wedding Journey in New York - hidden fees!
Cant fault the staff or the location.
The additional faculty fee is a con! Should be explained at check-in.
So disappointed by the response when queried my bill.
Make sure you are fully made aware of what all the charges that can be added on to your bill you ask at check-in, as they are quick to up-sell you.

6/10 Great location
Great location next to Penn station.
Highly recommend Essen restaurant, which is like a huge buffet either eat in or take away.
Walking distance to many sightseeing site e.g Empire state building, Time Square.
The hotel although clean does need a full renovation.
Had a queen sized room and probably the smallest room and bathroom staying in.

10/10 Fantastic location - spectacular views
Fantastic stay and staff were amazing and accommodating. We got to stay on one of the suites on floor 38 which had breathtaking views of the entire city from our room. Whilst it does need a little updating in places, the hotel is a lovely little treasure in itself with a rich history of its own. Highly recommend it.

9/10 A great choice for our last night in Manhattan.
Beautiful Building and great location. The staff at the desk were helpful, friendly and informative. The room was fine…. A little small, but all we needed for one night.
We were delighted to find it was just a short walk to MTA. One stop on the LIRR then Air Train to JFK…. So easy!

8/10 Fantastic location which is great if just using as a place to crash.
Great location. Subway is super convenient. Room was fairly small but to be expected in the heart of manhattan. Only thing I wasn’t a fan of was that you had to show your room key every time you used the elevator which was more of an inconvenience than anything.

8/10 A good hotel with a shocking policy towards storage of luggage
Great hotel in a perfect location with helpful staff. However being charged $5 per bag to store luggage before check in and after checkout is an effrontery. The price of hotels in New York is expensive enough that this should not be included as a separate item.

The location of the New Yorker is perfect and is conveniently accessible from JFK on the Subway. The front desk staff are efficient and security at the hotel is top class. A special mention to the ladies on the 24th floor who did a top class job servicing the room during my 5 night stay
